Custom WordPress

What is the difference between Customizing an existing WordPress Theme and Designing a Unique (sometimes called “Custom”) WordPress Theme?
I’m asked this question alot…
The most important thing to remember when you’re comparing prices, is to make sure you’re comparing “apples to apples” when it comes to what you’re getting.
Whether you download a “free” theme from the WordPress Theme Gallery, or you purchase the license for a theme…you already have a majority of the work done for your design. The coding of the theme is there, you just need it “tweaked” to be what you want for your website. That “tweaking” means creating/adding/editing some graphics such as your logo, buttons, headers, etc. and editing the color scheme in most cases. If you’ve found a theme that meets most of your needs, there’s no reason to pay the higher rates associated with something totally custom!

What we Did: Custom WordPress Theme Design-Better Health Naturally
Installation of plugins and WordPress phone training
I wanted to let you know how thrilled I am with the recent project you did for me. You totally exceeded my expectations in every way. Thanks for being so patient with me although I’ve been known to be a bit too picky. I really appreciate the time and care you put into this project and I’m very grateful for all the little extras you did. I am so looking forward to future projects because I know they will be in very capable hands. Thank you Nola!

Using Wordpress
Posted on October 7, 2008 | Filed Under SEO, Social Networking, WordPress
I get asked, “Can I move my blog to WordPress?”. The answer is “Yes!” And to the relief of so many bloggers…it’s EASY! Wordpress has an “Import” option that allows you to move all of your blog posts from their current host to your new WordPress blog! I did this myself 2 years ago, and it was a breeze…now all of my blog traffic is “my” traffic…not blogger.com’s.
So, the next question becomes, “When is it a good idea to move my blog to WordPress?”. Well, if you have your own domain already, or you are a business owner—as soon as possible! Why? Because you’re losing valuable content that could help your Search Engine rankings! Having your blog on your own domain rather than with a service (such as blogger.com) keeps your readers “in your circle”, and on your site! And all of that content will draw the search engines to YOUR DOMAIN, rather than to someone else’s site and then obscurely to yours.
