What’s Up?

. Thanks for visiting the design blog!
It has been too long since I posted, I know! There’s been a lot going on at Classic Creations. Finishing up major projects and starting some new smaller ones…getting ready to spend some time working on the structure of my own business…organizing my office…and planning a trip to Missouri to see our Soldier next month!
Recent Projects:
• ArmySwaps.com
• Effective Training Solutions
• Body Cleanse Sales Page
• College Navigator Sales Page
• Townes at Old Stone Crossing HOA Site
And we’re almost done with the big change over at X-Streamers.com! Plus, I’m working on a new look for Christian-Homemaking.com that will hopefully be approved and finished up very soon!
Next week, I’ll be starting a new WordPress site for a salon (I’m so excited about that one, because I LOVE doing upscale designs).
Have you heard about Jing.com? I’m using this program to create training videos for my HOA website clients. It’s wonderful!
One other item of note: I’m looking for writers! I need writers who know how to write for the web (SEO, etc.) and who can write highly compelling sales pages. If you don’t write yourself, I’m not interested…I want to deal directly with the writer. Email Me with details about your work and fees if you fit the bill!
Happy Summer Everyone! Enjoy and Be Safe!

The Completion of a Start…
Posted on May 11, 2009 | Filed Under Business Image, Latest News, Print Media, Website Design, WordPressWhat? I know that’s what you’re saying when you read the title of this post, right? The reason I called it that is because this project will be ongoing, and I love that. The recently launched Matrix Medical Jobs project, has not only been the biggest I’ve been involved in so far in my career, it’s also been the most fun, as well as providing a highly valuable learning experience.
The project involved designing a main site, and then 48 “branch” sites within. Each of those sites is located on a sub-domain, and 10 of them have completely different designs, then color changes within those 10 “categories”. Also, 11 Wordpress Blog themes to match the main site and 10 of the “branch” sites. While challenging, it has been a challenge I met with enthusiasm, because of the experience it provides!
Now that those sites have launched, we have been working on our print media for marketing. Business cards, sales sheets, presentation folders/sales packet, and more. It is very exciting. I’ve always loved the process of building an entire business image package, from Logo, to website, to print media.
There will be more sites added to this group in the future, and I look forward to a wonderful on-going relationship with this very talented group of people!

Show Your Gratitude
Posted on April 14, 2009 | Filed Under Business Image, Fun Stuff, Smart Business
A few years ago I worked with my friend Elizabeth Varian on a website for a wonderful lady named Lori Saitz. Lori’s incredible products were truly an amazing concept to me at the time, and I knew that she would be successful…not only because of the product, but also because of her attitude and professionalism.
Since that time her business HAS grown, and just recently – March 24, 2009 – one of her products (Zen Crunch) was featured on the Rachel Ray show as the “Snack of the Day”!
The absolute best part of Lori’s business-Zen Rabbit Cookies, is that it’s built around the concept of expressing Gratitude. No matter what you need to show your appreciation for, or to whom you need to show it, she’s got a product for you! It’s a great way to say “Thank you!” to your customers or clients! And don’t forget, next Wednesday is Admin Professionals Day…why not pop in over at Zen Rabbit and show your gratitude for all your VA does to help make your business successful?

Valuable Real Estate…
Posted on March 24, 2009 | Filed Under Business Marketing, Smart Business, Website Design, WordPress
After posting the Google updates yesterday, I spent some time on my own error page (also known or titled as a 404 page).
Start your own tour of your error page with this thought…when someone lands here, they’ve either clicked an old link, a poorly coded link, or typed in a bad url. Does that mean I want them to leave my site?
Of course not!
What you want to do is guide them to the important areas of your site.
First of all explain to them (in laymen’s terms) where they are…instead of titling the page “404 Error-Page Not Found”, why not say something like “That Page Isn’t Here”?
Next offer either a link to your Site Map, or if you feel you have the space, put a copy of your site map on the page.
Are you building a list? Is the form prominently displayed in your sidebar navigation? If not, why not include a section with your list form? Make it look nice!
WordPress sites offer some great opportunities for your error page via plugins and other coding. For example on my own error page I’ve included “Most Popular Pages”, as well as a feed to the most recent post on this blog, and an additional search form.
You could also use this as a page to highlight your most popular product.
The main thing to remember is that your error page is just that…a page of your site! Don’t leave it blank, and lose the additional opportunities it could be generating for you!
