What we Did:  Custom Yahoo Store Template and Logo Design-Let’s Do Wine

Client Testimonial

Wendy KielarOur website was in need of an complete facelift.  We wanted it to have a welcoming and friendly look but yet we wanted a sleek professional look.  Nola just amazed us!  We loved the colors, the flow, the entire look was perfect.   Since its launch, there isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t get at least one compliment about the site.   Not only did we get a new site, we got a beautiful, sleek new logo.  Our website is so welcoming…our visitors are not only staying longer but are buying and buying in much larger quantities.  Our online sales have doubled!  We are very grateful to such a talented designer who not only listened to our needs but delivered exactly what we wanted.  Thanks a million!

10 Best WordPress Plugins

Posted on September 25, 2008 | Filed Under SEO, Smart Business, WordPress

This is of course in MY opinion, based on the ones I’ve used in my own designs and client sites.

10.  Search Everything – increases the ability of the default WP search to include pages, tags, categories, comments, attachments, and more. Allows you to exclude specific things from searches.

9.  Yoast Breadcrumbs – Advantageous to your site’s SEO, this plugin creates breadcrumbs on your WP site.

8.  Events Calendar – Changes the default WP sidebar calendar into an events calendar where you can add and delete events through your admin panel. Also provides the ability to place a large (stand alone) calendar on a page of your site.

7.  Blogroll Links Page – Outputs your blogroll links as a page. An excellent way to create an easily updatable “Links” page on your WP site.

6.  Page Link Manager – Allows you to easily choose which pages are listed in your site’s navigation.

5.  cformsII-Contact Form – Powerful form builder allowing multiple forms on one site.

4.  Google XML Sitemaps – creates a Google sitemaps compliant XML-Sitemap of your WordPress blog.

3.  All in One SEO Pack – You should not be caught without this plugin! Optimizes your titles and generates Meta tags for excellent SEO. Can be used directly “out of the box”, or you can fine tune it if you want.

2.  Akismet – Tired of comment spam? You need to install Akismet! Requires an API Key from WordPress.com.

1.  WordPress Automatic Upgrade – Takes the stress out of upgrading your site/blog to the latest version. Creates backups of your site and your database, as well as guiding you through every step. This one is an absolute MUST HAVE!

Obviously, the list of great plugins is nearly endless when it comes to using WordPress. I’ve found that these 10 are the ones I use most often.

I wanted to give an honorable mention to WordPress.com Stats. It’s a very nice plugin, you just have to be careful when you install it not to use your own API key on someone else’s site…
